Classroom Procedures and Rules
- Respect: RESPECT EVERYONE and EVERYTHING!! Respect all materials in the classroom, whether they belong to you or not. You should never touch or take anything that does not belong to you. If you need to borrow supplies from the teacher, you must ask first. There is no name calling, bullying, teasing, pushing, laughing at, etc. in the school.
- Arrival: When you come into the classroom, you must stay in the classroom. You cannot drop off your materials and go back in the hallway. Make sure you come prepared for class everyday. (Pens AND Pencils, Binder, Homework, and any other previously assigned materials)
- Bellwork: Everyday when you come to class, you must sit in your assigned seat quietly, get out your materials, sharpen your pencil, turn in homework/late work in the designated area, and begin the bell work assignment. If you were absent, you need to make sure you get your missing work.
- Daily Procedure: You must stay in your seat, unless you have permission from the teacher. This means you must ask to use the restroom, sharpen your pencil, etc. If you need to throw something away, you need to wait until the end of class.
- Dismissal: The clock does not dismiss you. The teacher does. The only way you will be dismissed is by your table/section. All materials need to be put back in place and the floor/table needs to be clean.
- School Policy: No book bags, No drawstring packs (even if you’re using it as a purse), No gum, No bulky coats, All cell phones need to be turned off and put away, No electronic devices of any sort (during school hours), No cameras, No make-up, No lotion, No body spray/cologne/perfume and No combs/brushes!
- Hall Pass: You will receive 8 restroom/water/locker passes for the semester. To use these passes, you need to ask the teacher and then sign your pass in the binder. Use these wisely. YOU MUST BE IN THE ROOM 45 MINTUES before you can leave.
- Participation: Just like you learned in elementary school, if you have a question or want to answer a question, you need to sit quietly and raise your hand and wait to be called on. There should not be any shouting out or arguing about not getting called on. Also, remember to respect others opinions at all times.
